Simple Estate

What do our services include?

Initial meeting with client to understand the extent of the estate, whether it is taxable, whether an IHT 400 is required and the assistance required. This will include:

Reading the will
Identifying the Executors
Identifying the beneficiaries
Identifying any complexities
Explaining the meaning of the will to the client
Understand the extent of the estate
Explaining the process to the client

Obtain valuations of all of the estate assets and liabilities
Prepare schedule of assets and liabilities
Send to client for approval and signature
Prepare Legal Statement

Send to client for approval and signature

Submit application to the Probate Registry

Receive the Grant of Probate
Place S27 notice in the Gazette and local newspaper
Close/transfer all accounts and investments
Pay all liabilities
Contact beneficiaries
Pay any legacies due (following clear bankruptcy searches)
Prepare Estate Accounts

Send to client for approval and signature

Carry out bankruptcy searches on all residuary beneficiaries
Distribute estate

Disbursements will include:
- Probate fee - £300.00 plus £16 per additional copy for estates with a value in excess of £5,000.00
- AML fees
- Bankruptcy search fees
- HM Land Registry search fees
- S27 notice
- Will Search
- Asset Search
Exclusions include:
- Dealing with the income tax and capital gains affairs of the deceased – we can recommend someone to assist
- Deeds of Variation – we can prepare these at an additional cost
- Deeds of Appointment – we can prepare these at an additional cost
- Transferring/selling property – we can recommend someone to assist
- Dealing with any claims/disputes – we can recommend someone to assist
- Finding missing beneficiaries – this will incur an additional cost
*If any complications become apparent at the initial meeting or throughout the administration period, this may result in a review of the pricing structure and you will be informed of this at the time.
